Tour description:
Begin your day with a drive that takes you between the Dalmatian coast and the hinterland, as you enjoy views of Trogir, Split, and the surrounding landscape that features abundant greenery and picturesque villages.
On this full-day excursion, your first stop will be in Šibenik to see the sights of the town, including the UNESCO-protected St. Jacob’s Cathedral. Then we go to Krka and your professional guide will take you on a fascinating tour, walking through forest pathways you will experience the rich diversity of flora and fauna.
The bed of the river Krka is deeply embedded into the limestone plateau between the towns Knin and Skradin. This natural and karstic phenomenon created seven travertine waterfalls: Bilušića buk, Brljan, Manojlovački slap, Rošnjak, Miljacka slap, Roški slap and Skradinski buk, the highest cascade in the Mediterranean (46m).
It is overflowing with unique and rich flora – 860 different plant taxa. The total of 221 bird species has been recorded in the Park’s area, among which the largest number is nesting birds. Some species stay there only during spring and autumn migrations and as a set, this protected area was included in ornithologically important areas of Europe.
