Tour description:

The National Park Plitvička jezera (Plitvice Lakes) is the oldest Croatian national park. It is known for its magnificent waterfalls which create clear lakes in a constant biodynamic process of travertine creation.

Currently, 16 lakes can be seen from the surface. These lakes are a result of the confluence of several small rivers and subterranean karst rivers. The lakes are all interconnected and follow the water flow. They are separated by natural dams.

A special place in the abundant fauna is reserved for the largest European carnivores: brown bear, wolf and lynx. In 1979 UNESCO included Plitvice Lakes in the List of World Heritage Sites due to the uniqueness, natural beauty and value of the national park.

Take a day trip from Split or Trogir to explore Plitvice Lakes. When you arrive at Plitvice National Park, you’ll take a guided walk along wooden pathways. See the 16 beautiful lakes and over 90 waterfalls. After your guide shows you highlights of the park you will have your free time. Enjoy a half hour boat ride along the biggest lake Kozjak. You can take lunch or coffee in one of the restaurants or spend your time exploring this incredible nature. An electric train will take you back to the beginning of your adventure. Your driver will wait for you to take you back to Split / Trogir.
